DETERMINATE TOMATOES (Bush)

STUPICE-Semi-determinate-Incredible producer of 1 oz red tomatoes. Potato-leaf shaped leaves.  Vigorous and productive. 

RUSSIAN-Favorite local determinate plant.  Finishes early with medium sized good tasting tomatoes. The plants stout compact growth habit is really distinct. If you like this one try Siberian too. Sold out. Will be available next year as it is a local favorite.

INDETERMINATE TOMATOES (Requires staking)

BURPEE’S LONGKEEPER-Grows medium-sized golden orange fruits on the outside and ripening to red on the inside.  Stores way past 12 weeks. 78 days to maturity. This rare variety is not carried by any other Canadian Seed Company. It is no longer available from the company I sourced them from.

GLASNOST-A medium-sized red oblate shaped tomato.  A Siberian cold tolerant mid-season plant. Excellent slicer! Indeterminate. Start indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Use well rotted manure as a fertilizer.

 RED FIG-Historic variety grown since the 1700’s as an ornamental and for preserves. 1-1 1/2” long red hourglass shaped fruits grow abundantly. Great for salads and eating out of hand. 70 days.


 


RIESENTRAUBE-European heirloom variety grown by Pennsylvania Dutch as early as 1856. Name translates as “giant bunches of grapes.” From the seed I planted they grew small beautiful pink oval shaped fruits.In the past this variety was used to make tomato wine. Indeterminate, 80 days from transplant.

CURRANT TOMATOES (Lycopersicon pimpinellifolium)

South American species with sprays of tiny, sweet red or yellow fruits on fast growing vines. Prune hard or let ramble. Rare. 65 days. The fruits are very sweet and about half the size of a cherry tomato.

TOMATILLO VERDE- Famous husked green tomato for making salsa verde.   Sweet sour flavour.  Harvest when husks turn brown & begin to open. Start indoors 4-8 weeks before last frost.
